If You’re Feeling Sick…
This information is based on advice from our partners at Grand County Public Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health. For the most up-to-date information, please refer directly to their sites or the Grand County Public Health Facebook page.
If you feel as though you may be getting sick (symptoms include fever, coughing, and shortness of breath), stay home and do the following:
- Stay home except when directed by your primary care provider to get medical treatment. Avoid contact with others. Call your primary care physician.
- If you have an underlying condition that may increase your risk, CALL your primary care provider to ask if you need to be evaluated in person. They may want to monitor your health more closely and test you for COVID-19 and other respiratory infections like the flu. Higher risk groups include:
- Older people (over 60), especially those over 80.
- People with chronic medical conditions like heart, lung, kidney disease, or diabetes. Older people with chronic conditions are at the greatest risk.
- Visit CDPHE’s website for information about priority groups for testing.
- DO NOT go to an emergency room to get tested unless you are having a medical emergency (for COVID-19 that may mean shortness of breath or difficulty breathing). Instead, call your primary care provider.
If you do not have a local primary care provider, you can contact a local health clinic for assessment and guidance.
