You may have noticed a few changes at crosswalks along Highway 40 lately. We've recently installed three rapid repeating flashing beacon (RRFB) crosswalks. These beacons can increase pedestrian safety along the Highway 40 corridor by alerting drivers that someone is crossing the street. To use the crosswalks, press the button on the pole to activate the flashing beacon when you are ready to cross. We have also added shark's teeth pavement markings to inform drivers where to come to a stop and wait while pedestrians cross. All three of these RRFB crosswalks are powered by solar energy.
The RRFB crosswalks are located:
- Highway 40 and Rosie's Way
- Highway 40 and Hi Country Drive
- Highway 40 and Miller's Road
