Winter Park Selects Jon Peacock as New Town Manager

The Town of Winter Park is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Peacock as its next Town Manager, following an extensive national search and public engagement process. Peacock brings more than 25 years of executive leadership in local government, with a proven track record in resort and mountain communities, strategic planning, capital project delivery, and community engagement.

Peacock most recently served as County Manager for Pitkin County, Colorado, where he led a $263 million organization supporting over one million annual visitors and 18,000 residents. His leadership helped deliver award-winning capital projects, advance affordable housing and climate initiatives, and forge lasting public-private partnerships, including a landmark $1 billion airport lease agreement that reinvested funds into community priorities. His previous experience includes serving as County Administrator in Mesa County, and as a state policy and fiscal analyst in Ohio.

“I’m honored and excited to join the Town of Winter Park at such a dynamic time,” said Jon Peacock. “I’m looking forward to partnering with the Council, staff, and the broader community to advance shared priorities — from workforce housing and infrastructure to preserving open space and supporting local businesses — in ways that strengthen Winter Park for generations to come.”

Mayor Nick Kutrumbos shared Peacock’s enthusiasm, “Jon is the exact right fit for this moment in Winter Park’s evolution. His deep experience in managing resort communities, guiding complex initiatives, and bringing people together will help us carry forward the bold vision our town is pursuing. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

The hiring process was conducted through a national executive search led by a professional recruitment firm specializing in local government leadership. After a rigorous evaluation of dozens of applicants, the Town Council selected four finalists who participated in a public open house and formal interviews in late October. Community feedback and thorough candidate assessments informed the Council’s final decision.

Town Council will formally approve Peacock’s contract at their next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, November 4. Peacock will officially assume his role on January 12, 2026.
