In 2015, Winter Park Resort and the Town of Winter Park agreed to a
Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) that created a pathway to transition
the pre-existing private transit service to a new, publicly-owned
transit service. For transparency and accountability, the MOU created a
Transit Advisory Committee (the “TAC”) that would act in an advisory
capacity to the Winter Park Town Council to develop the annual transit
budget, coordinate the transition of the service, and make
recommendations on levels of service. The TAC was originally comprised
of three representatives – two representatives from Winter Park Resort
and one representative from the Town of Winter Park. Upon approval of a
long-term, sustainable funding source by Fraser and Winter Park voters
in November of 2015, one representative from Winter Park Resort was
replaced by a representative from the Town of Fraser.
