2026 Municipal Election Information
February 2026 Update:
Council voted to cancel the April 7, 2026, Regular Election at the February 3, 2026, Council meeting.
The Town of Winter Park holds biennial municipal elections. The election for this year was set to be held on April 7, 2026, with four available Council seats open, 3 four-year terms and 1 two-year term. Nomination petitions to become a candidate were made available on January 6, 2026. Three people turned in nomination petitions by the deadline, and all three of those petitions were verified by the Town Clerk.
Separately from the nomination petition process, candidates could file affidavits of intent to run as a write-in candidate until February 2, 2026. One person filed an affidavit of intent by the deadline.
Because the same number of candidates ran as there were offices to be filled, the Town Council chose to cancel the election and withdraw the ballot issue set in a previous meeting.
Council will determine the term length of the newly elected councilors by agreement among them or by agreeing to a drawing, via resolution before or on the meeting date of the newly elected to be sworn in, which is April 21, 2026.
The four Council candidates who are now elected by the approval of Resolution 2300 are:
- Nick Kutrumbos
- Michael Periolat
- Rebecca Kaufman
- Robert Wright
