Council Approves Two Ballot Questions for November Election

The Winter Park Town Council approved ballot language for two questions for the upcoming November election. Winter Park voters will consider:

BALLOT QUESTION 1: USE TAX CLARIFICATION

Ballot Language:
Shall the Town of Winter Park Tax Administration Code be updated to remove references to a use tax, including, without limitation, a vehicle use tax, which does not exist, has not been enacted or approved by Town voters, and should not be collected.

 

BALLOT QUESTION 2: “DE-BRUCING” (REVENUE RETENTION)

Ballot Language:
Without creating any new tax or increasing any current taxes shall the Town be authorized to collect, retain and spend without limitation, while honoring all prior voter-approved dedications of portions of taxes, the full revenues received from all taxes and any investment earnings thereon without any condition or limitation and without limiting the collection or spending of any other revenues or funds by the Town under Article X, Section 20, of the Colorado Constitution, Section 29-1-301, C.R.S., or any other laws of the State?
