Chief’s Interview
If applicant is POST certified in Colorado and meets all hiring requirements, a job may then be offered on the condition of successful completion of the Department’s 14 week field training program.
If applicant is not POST certified, then FWPPD will attempt to find placement in a State Certified Police Academy. The applicant must successfully complete the program and pass the Colorado POST exam before becoming certified.

- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have no felony or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions
- Must hold a valid driver’s license in Colorado or another state
