Tree & Slash Removal Program
June - September Program
The Town of Winter Park provides scheduled pickup of logs and slash from residential tree removal projects focused on dead/diseased trees or defensible space around structures.
The Town WILL Collect
- Slash and logs from
- Homeowners doing their own tree removal
- Contractors hired by homeowners
- A maximum of 10 cubic yards of slash per scheduled pick-up
- Logs cut into 6-8 foot lengths
The Town will NOT collect
- Slash from new construction, lot clearing, or land development projects
- Items dropped off. This is a pick-up only service
- Tree stumps, trash, dirt, or non-combustible materials (e.g., leaves, pine needs, yard waste)
- Logs longer than 8 feet
How to Request a Pickup
Email bstensvad@wpgov.com to request slash pickup.
In your email, please include:
- Property address
- Home owner's name
- Phone number
- If you (the homeowner) are using a contractor
How to Prep for Pickup
Town crews will not enter private property. To ensure slash is picked up, and crews can safely collect piles, please prep the following.
- Place logs and slash in separate piles
- Stack materials along the road within the Town right-of-way (typically the first 15 feet from the pavement). Do not place materials on the pavement.
Please remember:
- Pickup is completed using heavy equipment. Some minor debris may remain
- If prohibited materials are included, the Town may leave the entire pile uncollected
