A Message from Mayor Jimmy Lahrman

To the Winter Park community,

These past couple weeks have been a challenging time for everyone around the world as COVID-19 affects us in unprecedented ways. My thoughts are with those who have been impacted the most and for those who are on the frontlines fighting the illness.

But in these times of uncertainty, we need to turn to each other to make it through. People who live in Winter Park are strong and resilient. We look out for one another and lend a helping hand. Knowing this about our community is what gives me strength.

From the perspective of our local government, your health and well-being are our highest priorities. That means working closely with Grand County and our other local partners to not only monitor and mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19 in the community, but to also offer support and resources for the businesses and individuals that have been hit hardest. We’re doing everything we can to help our locals and are constantly receiving updates about what resources are available – as we get them, we’ll be sharing them through social media, our e-newsletter and our main COVID-19 webpage.

We all play a role in keeping each other safe. For the time being, we encourage you to stay home as much as possible, practice social distancing, support local businesses by ordering takeout or gift cards for future use, and wash your hands frequently.

I’m sure we’ll manage through this difficult situation together and come back better than ever. In the meantime, be kind to each other and help when you can. If you are aware of a need in our community, please reach out to us.

Sincerely, Mayor Jimmy Lahrman
