Why Did the County Switch Systems?
This new state-of-the-art system is powered by Rave - Motorola and Smart911. The new system replaces the former CodeRED system and represents a significant upgrade in emergency communications.
The transition to Grand County Alerts was driven by a commitment to data security and public trust following a widely reported data breach involving the previous vendor, CodeRED. Registering for the emergency alert service is free and provides timely alerts about law enforcement activity, evacuations, and other emergencies via phone, text, or email.
