Winter Park, CO — Residents, community members, and visitors in Winter Park have another public transportation option to make getting around town even easier. The Lift launched a microtransit pilot program on June 15, 2026. The new program, called “The Lift Flex” acts as an on-demand service for riders, acting similar to a ridesharing service like Uber. Users can use The Lift Flex app to request door-to-door rides throughout Winter Park.
The Lift Flex is available for free to riders from 7:00 a.m. through 12:00 a.m. throughout the summer. Rides can be requested throughout the Town of Winter Park including Park side at the Winter Park Resort. The service does not extend to the base of Jane or into Fraser. The service area and operating hours for the program will change in the winter due to the Brown and Orange lines also running during that time.
The pilot program is being funded through a Colorado Department of Transportation Clean Transit Enterprise Grant and a Grand County Community Priorities Grant. The program was identified as a priority in The Lift and the Town of Winter Park’s 5-Year Transit Plan, adopted in 2024. The new resource fills a need by providing evening service for summer riders who rely on the “Night Lift” in the Winter, and gives those living far from the Black Line a new way to use public transportation during the summer months.
Town of Winter Park Transit Manager, Charles McCarthy, commented on the new program, stating, “The major benefit of having microtransit within the town limits is that it's servicing areas outside of the Black Line. This gives us the ability to service those areas without needing to have a deviation time. We're really excited, and we want those who ride to provide feedback on how the program runs and how it can be improved. We want this to be a resource for residents and visitors alike, creating more sustainable ways to get around our community.”
Those looking to ride can request a pick-up through The Lift Flex app, by calling dispatch at 970-726-4163, or online. Microtransit will use The Lift cutaway buses as their vehicles, making them easily identifiable for riders.
